The Company has the flexibility to produce a variety of pellet types, including fluxed pellets, standard pellets and direct reduction grade (“DR”) pellets, providing it with the ability to adapt to market demand and to supply a broad range of customers.
Blast Furnace Fluxed Pellets
Fluxed pellets are produced by adding lime or magnesia to the concentrate before pelletizing and this most often results in the lowering of the overall Fe content of the pellet.
Blast Furnace Standard Pellets
Standard pellets exhibit a basicity of more than 0.5
Direct Reduction Grade Pellets
Characterized by a high Fe content and very low gangue content – generally below 2%. It is not unusual to add fluxes to DR concentrates prior to pelletizing
